Alan Lee scored twice on his Town away debut to give the Blues a deserved 2-0 victory over Southampton at St Mary's. The recent £100,000 acquisition from Cardiff put Town in front in the fourth minute and then on 89 wrapped the game up.

Unlucky Town's 2005/06 FA Cup campaign came to an end at the third round stage as Portsmouth left Portman Road with a 1-0 victory. Dario Silva scored the goal in the 36th minute, but the Blues controlled most of the game with Jason De Vos hitting the post in the second half.

The Blues got back to winning ways with a 1-0 defeat of Luton Town. Sub Ian Westlake struck on 69 from Darren Currie's excellent 40-yard pass from halfway. Earlier, strike pair Dean Bowditch and Danny Haynes had both missed good chances to put the Blues in front.
